Selena Gomez has opted to cut the controversial pink horses from her "Love You Like a Love Song" video, after coming under fire by none other than Pink, herself. E! News reports that the ponies will be left on the cutting room floor when the video debuts on June 22nd in 2011.
"When Selena was presented this idea for the video,Noboby informed her the horses would be painted and she had assumed they would be colored in the post-production," a real production source says. "When Selena Gomez showed up to the set in she was very surprised to see Horses painted."
The outspoken rocker (who recently gave birth to a baby girl) tweeted her disgust after learning that several horses had been colored an artificial hue for Gomez's "stupid music video." The teen pop-star's camp insists that "no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken. A nontoxic, vegetable-based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water."
PETA however, disagrees. "There is are no safe ways to paint a live horse or any animal," a spokesperson for the group says.
