Wedge not considering moving Ichiro

Written By CBAworld on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 | 2:26 PM

SEATTLE -- Mariners manager Eric Wedge moved Chone Figgins from second to eighth in the batting order, so naturally he was asked if it's possible that leadoff man Ichiro Suzuki could be moved down if he doesn't snap out of the funk he found himself in entering Monday. Ichiro entered the Memorial Day game against Baltimore in a 6-for-42 (.143) slump since May 19, including going 1-for-22 in his last five games.
"It's not something I've thought about to this point," Wedge said. "But like I've said before, I'm the manager of the team. Anything's a possibility. But don't underestimate the power of timing in this game. Baseball, more than any other sport, it's 162 games, six months. You're going to do something, you better ... be sure that it's the right thing to do at the right time."
Wedge said he had a productive talk with Ichiro prior to Monday's game and that there's nothing wrong physically with his right fielder.
"He's gone through spells before, and he'll come through this, too," Wedge said. "It's my job to support him, it's his teammates' job to support him, and they'll lean on each other like they've been doing. I want to make sure he doesn't put too much heat on himself. I want to make sure he doesn't feel like he has to do it all by himself. I want to make sure he doesn't focus on trying to do too much, too quickly, making up for it."

The Unrecognizable Jennifer Lawrence Hits Hunger Games Set recently

Jennifer Lawrence's "Hunger Games" reinvention is complete!
The stunning blonde Oscar nominee, 20, already unveiled her new brunette do and posed in character as Katniss Everdene on a recent Entertainment Weekly magazine cover -- but she looked utterly unrecognizable in first pics from the Hildebran, North Carolina set of the film, based on the popular young adult book trilogy by author Suzanne Collins.
PHOTOS: From fab to fug! Stars get major make-unders
Lawrence looked almost dowdy -- her curves covered up -- in a simple blue dress and sneakers and seemingly little makeup.

She knew what she was getting into, though, taking on the role from the blockbuster series. "I knew that as soon as I said yes, my life would change," she told Entertainment Weekly.

Brad Pitt: Marriage is something Angelina Jolie and I may have to consider -only for the kids

Written By CBAworld on Monday, May 30, 2011 | 11:53 AM

Nevermind curious fans constantly asking "will they or won't they," Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's children want to know when the superstar couple is finally going to tie the knot.
"The kids ask about marriage. It's meaning more and more to them," the "Tree of Life" star reveals to USA Weekend.
Despite past declarations Pitt, 47, and Jolie, 35, have made about not marrying until gay people can do so legally, the couple may be having a change of heart.

"It's something we've got to look at," Pitt admits.
Though a wedding may still be in the distant future, the actor and his longtime partner make a point to carve out some alone time from their brood: Maddox, 9, Zahara, 6, Pax, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 2.
"There are no secrets at our house," he says. "We tell the kids, 'Mom and Dad are going off to kiss.' They go, 'Eww, gross!' But we demand it."
And while he recently admitted to loving the "chaos" of having a big family, Pitt makes sure they maintain a sense of order in their lives.
"On the road, we're a military mobile unit," he states. "The kids have got their stuff down to one backpack, and they're each responsible for their own bag. Mom does the packing; she's quite gifted at that. Puts in just what we need – nothing extra."
The globetrotting family travels between the multi-house Los Angeles compound he calls their "base camp" and international film sets. They also often spend their downtime at a 1,000-acre estate in southern France.
"We're pretty nomadic," he remarks. "We go where the crops are."
Pitt acknowledges that his family life "seems a bit extreme," but says, "I like extremes. I guess I've always operated that way."
But despite their unique circumstances, the fun never dies down for the Pitt-Jolie kids.
"Angie and I do everything we can to carve out some semblance of normalcy for them, to re-create the kinds of moments that were special for us," the actor says. "It's not unusual for the kids to be covered in paint. We have mud fights. It's chaos from morning until the lights go out, and sometimes after that."
And despite feeling "hunted" by the pesky paparazzi, Pitt chooses to see the positive in being a part of one of Hollywood’s most famous families.

"Our kids have to live behind a gate. Outside, there are people with cameras," he said. "But I'll take the trade-off. I never knew I was capable of experiencing so much love."

Niecy Nash the blushing bride weds electrical engineer Jay Tucker in Malibu ceremony

Niecy Nash is a blushing bride!

The former "Clean House" host wed electrical engineer Jay Tucker on Saturday in an outdoor ceremony at the Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu, Calif., according to E! News.

The couple exchanged vows in front of 200 guests, including "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd, who served as a bridesmaid, and matron of honor Sheryl Lee Ralph. "The Game" star Wendy Raquel Robinson and "The Talk" co-host Holly Robinson-Peete were also included in the wedding party.

Nash's former "Dancing with the Stars" partner, Louis Van Amstel, attended the couple’s nuptials as well.

"The wedding was beautiful and of course it wouldn't be as special without Niecy Nash throwing in some humor," he wrote Saturday on Twitter. "You look stunning, Mrs. Tucker!"

"This was one of the best days of my life!" Nash told Life & Style after tying the knot. "It was a dream come true to be surrounded by family and friends as I married the most wonderful man. I celebrated so hard, I'm sure the angels in heaven were telling me to be quiet!"

Nash, 40, and Tucker became engaged last September after dating for a year. This is the second marriage for Nash, who split from ex-husband Don Nash in 2007.

Fans of the Style Network star will get a chance to watch a behind-the-scenes look of what went into her big day on "Niecy Nash's Wedding Bash," a two-hour TLC special airing on June 4.

Separating Story in Again: Christopher Knight and Adrianne Curry Separating

Another reality TV couple bites the dust? On their fifth wedding anniversary, Adrianne Curry and Christopher Knight announced that they are splitting, according to Hollyscoop.

"After starting a relationship with what seemed to be irreconcilable differences, the couple has reached a period where those differences are no longer appreciated," read part of the statement issued by their manager, Phil Viardo. "The decision was mutually reached after it became clear to both that some perspective was needed in order to assess their unique union. Not unlike all marriages, work must be put in."

Watch Curry and Knight discuss their relationship

The statement does suggest, though, that reconciliation is a possibility: "They are taking time to see if they want to continue to put in that extraordinary effort. The couple has mutually determined that they are at a place where moving forward will require a step back. They still love one another but need some distance to consider their future."

Christopher Knight: I had to choose between my wife and Brady mom

Knight is best known for playing Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch, while Curry initially rose to fame as the winner of the first cycle of America's Next Top Model. The couple met when they starred in the fourth season of VH1's The Surreal Life, which aired in 2005. They went on to star in three seasons of their own spin-off, My Fair Brady, and were married in front of their show's cameras. This is Knight's first marriage and Curry's third. They have no children.
