Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre, more commonly known as a Tony Award, recognizes achievement in live Broadway theatre. The awards are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League[1] at an annual ceremony in New York City. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances, and an award is given for regional theatre. Several discretionary non-competitive awards are also given, including a Special Tony Award, the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award.[2] The awards are named after Antoinette Perry, co-founder of the American Theatre Win.

If you want to see actress Daniel Radcliffe sing, tune in very early to the Tony Awards.

The Movie “Harry Potter” star says he’ll perform the great song  “Brotherhood of Man” from his Broadway show “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” early in the Sunday’s telecast.

Says Daniel Radcliffe: “I think we’re one of the first, if not the first.”

Daniel Radcliffe revealed the news in Monday while welcoming hundreds of New York City students as they made their Broadway debuts — performing their routines from musicals on the Majestic Theatre stage.

Actress Radcliffe was passed over for a Tony nomination, but says he’s pulling for co-stars John Larroquette and Tammy Blanchard, who are up for this awards.

“If John won it would be just amazing,” he says. “Only because I have a lot of scenes with him.”
